Essential Health Information:
What Is Healthy Eating?

What is healthy eating? If you know exactly what healthy eating is then, believe it or not, you are one of the minority.

Our health, our ability to enjoy life and the way we feel on a daily basis has everything to do with nutrition so it is important to address this question right now.

What is healthy eating

Healthy eating is actually nothing to do with dieting. This is one of the most common misconceptions around and probably one that you have. Eating healthily does not mean that you have to be on a diet or even looking to lose weight.

Instead, it is all about making sure that you get the right nutrients in your diet and feeding your body everything it needs for optimum health.

It is all about eating a balanced diet that contains all the proteins, carbohydrates, fiber, good fat, vitamins and minerals you need in there.

Unfortunately, this seems to be more difficult as a direct result of poor guidance. For example, My Pyramid that the USDA was recommended contains too many calories and promotes obesity.

However, there has recently been a revision of the nutrition pyramid that has acknowledged the overnutrition in the old pyramid and corrected the dietary needs of the average American.

As a nutrition guidelines I prefer use a Healthy Pyramid by Herbalife. Healthy food pyramid by Herbalife places an emphasis on fruit and vegetables rather than grains and cereals.

As such, it can act as an excellent dietary guide for you when you are considering what to eat on a daily basis. It does address what is healthy eating but you need to know more.

Essential Dietary Knowledge

You need to know about all the relevant nutrients to use your eating habits to promote health and manage your weight. You need to know that

  • carbohydrates are primarily used for energy but eating too many carbs can actually cause obesity because those not used will be converted to and stored as fat. I'm not talking here about vegetables and fruits
  • Proteins are also used for energy but you need them to boost your immune system, keep your lean body mass (muscles) and help cell functioning too.

However, if you use a system like Herbalife then you will find that all of your nutritional needs are taken care of without you needing to manage the amounts of nutrients in everything you eat. Herbalife core products can do that for you.

In response to the question of what is healthy eating, Herbalife have successfully formulated a number of dietary programs based on cellular nutrition princples that provide the optimum nutrition for you and your cells no matter what your health goals are:

  • weight management
  • women's health
  • men's health

You must have health goals at all times or risk straying into the realms of the unhealthy. So why not take advantage of the programs Herbalife has to offer? Why worry about what is healthy eating when you can choose to have someone else doing that for you?
