You may or may not have noticed that prepackaged foods and restaurant servings have gotten bigger in recent years. We are eating bigger, become bigger and it is no coincidence that we have all developed weight problems as a result. So here is
my diet story.
Portions control are more important than ever today because fewer people are in the good health that they should be in for their height, gender and age.
Before going any further, you should test your own knowledge on food portion sizes to see how much you need to learn?
For example, ask yourself how many nuts represent one single portion? How many vegetables constitute a portion? Unless you answered a handful for the former and half a cup for the latter, you have work to do. Because it is not only how much you eat but also what of it you eat.
Taking the two example questions above first, you should know that the former question is more important than the latter. You can eat as many fruits and vegetables as you like but nuts contain fats that can damage your health if you eat too many. So fruits and vegetables are your food priority.
